UrbanRelay was born from a simple frustration: too many food deliveries arrive late, cold, or wrong — and the people running those operations are left guessing instead of knowing. We set out to build the coordination layer that makes every delivery reliable, transparent, and stress-free.
Our story
The spark
Our founders, frustrated by unreliable delivery platforms, started building a dispatch tool in a garage in Lagos. The first prototype coordinated 12 riders for a single restaurant.
Product-market fit
After piloting with 30 restaurant partners, UrbanRelay achieved a 98.5% on-time delivery rate — nearly double the industry average. Seed funding followed.
Scaling up
We expanded to five cities, launched ML-powered dispatch, and crossed 500,000 deliveries. Our team grew from 8 to 45 people across engineering, ops, and customer success.
Platform launch
UrbanRelay became a full platform: open APIs, white-label tracking, and enterprise-grade SLAs. We now power delivery operations for restaurant chains, cloud kitchens, and logistics providers.
